How to find your way through all of this?

We arrived in Warsaw to resume the exploration and work on the performances that began a year earlier during the residencies. I participated in two performances, one of which became particularly close to my heart.

In a culturally diverse team, we created a piece depicting the displacement of Georgians from Abkhazia (a region of Georgia) in 1992. We used our bodies to express the emotions experienced by families, cities, and the entire displaced community during their march to safer areas. Throughout the process, the director assigned us tasks centered on emotions. We worked both physically and mentally, pushing ourselves into difficult, very uncomfortable states to authentically convey what had been shared with us and what we had seen in recorded footage.

What was crucial for me was the journey leading up to the performance. In Tbilisi, there were more participants in the project; we worked from the very beginning, getting to know each other and the story of our Georgian colleagues. In Warsaw, we refined the details, allowing for personal work as well as tuning in to our partners on stage. When working on a project in a small group of 8 people, it's possible to become an incredibly cohesive and connected team.

We learned each other’s bodies, mobility, limitations, as well as the authenticity and truth we showed on stage. Each of us together.

What moves me is how quickly we became such close-knit people. What’s key for me is that this closeness emerged through movement.

#127 Final presentations in Poland

Re-connecting in final residency in Warsaw It was a great opportunity for me to be a part of dance residency EU Project "Dancing together again" and to connect to other colleagues from participating countries, first in Napoli, then finally meeting all colleagues in Warsaw who have participated in previous residencies in Tbilisi, Rijeka and Napoli. I am very grateful to be able to participate in this project as the residencies were a rare opportunity for me to be able to focus only on dance artistic process, without needing to take care of other everyday duties. The weather in Warsaw was much cooler than in my hometown Zagreb during summer, which I really liked. However, this time it affected me in such a way that after the first few days of residency I got sick with a high fever and was forced to spend a few days in my room before I recovered.
