#14 Residency in Georgia

I am grateful to be able to work in the beautiful space of Movement Theatre. I feel blessed to be able to spend each morning in the space of a black box. It reminds me that theatre really is a space of wonder and play. I transform my thoughts, dreams and desires into material actions in this space. I feel refreshed by the possibility of working on a new piece of work. It feels like I am taking a real risk here, or several risks.

Maybe making art can sometimes be a process where different forces are sort of fighting against each other. Or where that fight of different forces is being exposed by an artist. I feel very strongly in the work that I am making that art is extremely political. We see it in the places, people and artworks that we are getting to know during our time in Georgia. I feel on the edge but at the same time very alive during my process here. A sense of constant threat, a possibility of a fight around every corner, but also a home - simply, a body.

#127 Final presentations in Poland

Re-connecting in final residency in Warsaw It was a great opportunity for me to be a part of dance residency EU Project "Dancing together again" and to connect to other colleagues from participating countries, first in Napoli, then finally meeting all colleagues in Warsaw who have participated in previous residencies in Tbilisi, Rijeka and Napoli. I am very grateful to be able to participate in this project as the residencies were a rare opportunity for me to be able to focus only on dance artistic process, without needing to take care of other everyday duties. The weather in Warsaw was much cooler than in my hometown Zagreb during summer, which I really liked. However, this time it affected me in such a way that after the first few days of residency I got sick with a high fever and was forced to spend a few days in my room before I recovered. This unexpected situation allowed me enough space to process all the new information about first impressions of Warsaw residency on ...

#113 Final presentations in Poland

“In the second half of August at squares and house-yards of Powisle appears the “Puppets by barricade” — a puppet show picturing the reality in a comic manner and bringing joy to inhabitants or the district and to the insurgents”. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” - Dumbledore said. And a little corner in the Warsaw Uprising Museum was a great proof of this words. Warsaw was all about remembering this light and I am eternally grateful for it. By Irina Bagauri
